It is reported that 30% of first responders to 9/11 develop behavioral health conditions, including PTSD, according to a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Supplemental research bulletin that focuses on mental health and substance abuse concerns.

Based upon my knowledge of trauma and PTSD, I believe that this estimate is far too low. Not due to SAMHSA's data reporting errors. Instead, due to underreporting, nondiagnosis, undertreatment, and lack of awareness amongst traumatized first responders. I offer two facts that support my argument: 1) today's NYT's article by James Barron, "She Fled the 68th Floor. She's Finally Dealing With 9/11 Trauma;" and, 2) reportedly 67% of those victims of mass shootings exhibit PTSD symptoms.

As many of you know, I am a Certified Life Coach specializing in trauma recovery and personal transformation that wants to make a difference in the lives of trauma victims. So, IF any of you know someone who may be a trauma victim due to events directly or indirectly related to 9/11, I encourage you to have them reach out to me.

In memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and in honor of our first responder heroes who have died, become sick, or are unaware of consequences of their heroism, I am offering the first five qualified persons who contact me ONE MONTH OF FREE WEEKLY COACHING SESSIONS.
